Amil Shivji

Amil SHIVJI (1990, Tanzania) founded the production company Kijiweni Productions in the city where he lives, Dar es Salaam. Before, he worked as a news reporter and radio host. The filmmaker hopes to refute historical and contemporary misrepresentations of Africa. Shivji puts neo colonialism and cultural and political imperialism in his motherland in the centre of his films with activist purposes.
