Ali Asgari

Acknowledged director Ali ASGARI (1982, Iran) is a prominent figure in cinema with more than 200 awards to his name. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Asgari's films have been screened at prestigious festivals such as Festival de Cannes and Venice Film Festival. His debut feature film Disappearance (2017) had its world premiere at the latter. After the premiere of Terrestrial Verses (2023) at Cannes, Asgari was banned by the Iranian authorities from traveling and making films.
