Adama Drabo

As a child Adama DRABO (1948, Mali) wanted to be a film maker, but Mali, which gained its independence in 1960, had more need of teachers. For ten years, Drabo taught in villages. Throughout this period he wrote plays and he painted. In 1979 he was taken on as cameraman at the Centre National de Production Cinématographique. Later he was assistant director to Cheick Oumar Sissoko. He started work on his first full-length feature Ta dona in 1989.
