Abdel KECHICHE (1960, Tunis) had already acquired a lot of experience as theatre and film actor before starting his career as a film director. He made his début in 1978 as an actor with Sans titre, based on a story by García Lorca. He won several prizes for his leading role in Nouri Bouzid's Bezness. In 2000 he appeared with his feature début Poetical Refugee. With Games of Love and Chance he won a César Award, the national film award of France.
