Esther Bannenberg will take on an interim managing role at HBF as consultant on distribution and financing matters and to assist in developing and future proofing the fund’s policy. Alongside Jeske van der Slikke and Fraser White she will run the fund of IFFR at least until the June part of the 50th edition.
After four years as the Manager of the Hubert Bals Fund and a total of eleven editions of International Film Festival Rotterdam, Fay Breeman has said goodbye to the festival. We will miss her dearly but wish her all the best on her new adventure at The Machinerie in her hometown Utrecht.
We are very happy that Esther will join the IFFR Pro team to ensure the continuity and further development of HBF. Esther has vast experience in the industry, working in distribution, sales, for international markets and festivals, production, financing and more. From these different perspectives, she has founded the company TOTO Cinema, where she offers consulting.
Esther will help HBF restructure its distribution activities, and further develop the financing possibilities for the fund, as well as being involved in the selection processes of the funding rounds in Spring. Jeske van der Slikke will run the daily operations of the fund and coordinate the HBF schemes
