Mirjam Gelhorn
Mirjam Gelhorn is a producer based in Stockholm. She graduated from Södertörns University and the Royal Institute of Art. She has worked on titles including Jennifer Rainsford’s All Of Our Heartbeats Are Connected Through Exploding Stars (Vision Du reel, Hot Docs, Guldbagge for best sound design); Theresa Traore Dahlberg’s Ouaga Girls (60+ festivals, cinematic release in Sweden, France, Spain), Simon Mesa Soto’s Madre (Palme d’Or nomination for best short, Cannes 2016) and Anna Eborn’s Transnistra (Big Screen Award Rotterdam IFFR, Dragon Award Best Documentary Gothenburg IFF, Guldbagge for best documentary). She has previous experience as a film curator, editor in chief and producer at places like Turteatern, Doc Lounge Sthlm, and various cultural magazines. Currently, Mirjam divides her time between the two production companies Mantaray Film and Momento Film, where she’s producing a slate of five films, both documentaries and fictions, with directors such as Tova Mozard and Theresa Traore Dahlberg.
Mantaray Film - Sweden
Mantaray Film is an independent production company founded by Stina Gardell in 2005. It produces complex, author-driven documentaries based on strong visual language and unique access. Their films range from deeply personal stories told from an inside perspective to films of investigative style. Mantaray has invested in the accounts of women, both in front of and behind the camera and is today one of the foremost documentary production companies in Europe. Their titles include The Most Beautiful Boy In The World (Sundance 2021), and Ingrid Bergman In Her Own Words (Cannes 2015). Besides working with established writers and directors, Mantaray is in constant search of emerging talent and new voices, having recently opened up their slate to fiction projects.
