Manuela Buono
Manuela Buono was born and lives in Trieste (Italy). Mega Plus 2010 graduate, (Media Business School Master in European Audiovisual Management), she received a Nipkow fellowship in 2011 and was selected for Berlinale Talents – Distribution Studio, in 2014. She is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA) and European Women Association in Audiovisual Industry (EWA). In 2013 she founded the sales company Slingshot Films, with a focus on debuts, art-house and creative documentaries, representing over the years around 40 titles by Italian and international film-makers, such as Mazen Khaled, Adele Tulli, Yuri Ancarani, Pedro Cabeleira, Friedrich Moser, Rä Di Martino and many more. With Slingshot Films, she recently started producing, completing one documentary, two experimental docs and one short film.
Slingshot Films - Italy
Launched in 2013, Slingshot Films is a sales agency and production company based in Trieste, Italy. Slingshot Films is present with its new acquisitions in all main international markets, representing around 50 titles, many of them debut features. As production, Slingshot Films completed Fango Rosso by Alberto Diana, (54’ Torino Film Festival), Freikörperkultur by Alba Zari, (18', Venice International Critics' Week), Diteggiatura by Riccardo Giacconi, (18', Giornate degli Autori, Venice, Rotterdam IFFR, New York FF), Frarìa by Alberto Diana (18', Torino Film Festival). Slingshot Films is also a minority co-producer of New Dawn Fades by Gürcan Keltek (Turkey, Germany, Italy, Norway, The Netherlands), in post-production. Currently it has under development Intra Montes, debut fiction film by Alberto Diana and Alba Zari's feature doc White Lies in post-production.
