Magdalena Sztorc
Magdalena Sztorc graduated in applied linguistics from the University of Warsaw and film production from Łódz Film School. She started her career as a programmer at New Horizons International Film Festival. She runs the Warsaw-based production company Before My Eyes. One of her first shorts, Fragments premiered in the Quinzaine Shorts at Cannes in 2014. Her feature debut Simple Things premiered in the main competition of New Horizons in 2020. In 2020, she also completed her second feature, Everyone Has a Summer, which premiered at the Gdynia Film Festival. The international premiere took place at Giffoni IFF in the Generator 16+ competition. She is a member of the Polish Producers Guild and is also a teacher at the Warsaw Film School.
Before My Eyes – Poland
Before My Eyes is a company that produces both fiction and documentary films. It focuses on creating author-driven films with international co-production potential. In 2014, its short film Fragments premiered at the Quinzaine des Realisateurs in Cannes. In 2020, its debut feature Simple Things was presented in the main competition of the New Horizons IFF. Its second feature Everyone Has a Summer premiered at the Gdynia FF and celebrated its international premiere at the Giffoni IFF. This year, the company has completed a Polish-Romanian documentary co-production The End of the Valley of Tears. Its latest project, Dolphin, is being developed at the MIDPOINT Feature Launch 2022 and has received four pitching awards, including the industry Audience Award at the Connecting Cottbus.
