Madeleine Sims-Fewer

Madeleine is a British-Canadian producer, writer, director and actor. In 2015 Madeleine met her creative partner Dusty Mancinelli at the TIFF Filmmaker’s Lab. Their debut feature, Violation, had its world premiere in 2020 at the Toronto International Film Festival where Madeleine was selected as a TIFF Rising Star. Violation won the Emerging Canadian Artist award at the Calgary International Film Festival, the Emerging Canadian Director Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival. In 2021, Violation had its international premiere at Sundance Film Festival, Texas premiere at SXSW, Asian premiere at BIFAN and rounded off its very healthy festival run in competition at Sitges. Violation won Best Canadian Film and Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Vancouver Critics Circle and was nominated for 5 Canadian Screen Awards (2021), including the John Dunning Best First Feature Film Award. Most recently Violation screened at MoMA in New York City as a part of their film series “Horror: Messaging the Monstrous.” Madeleine and Dusty are excited to produce and direct their sophomore feature in 2023.

DM Films - Canada 

DM Films is an independent production company founded by creative partners Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli. They are focused on producing their own content for film and television, as well as producing films from exciting and bold new voices. Highly focused on a naturalistic performance style and visual aesthetic, her films explore gender politics, the selfishness of human nature, and abuse of power.
