Lidia Damatto
Confused when dealing with sales agents and distributors? Lidia has over seven years of experience in film sales and distribution, but as a matter of fact there isn’t a part of the film industry that Lidia hasn’t worked in. She has produced, directed, programmed, sold, distributed and marketed films. She is the co-founder of collaborative international film consultancy and sales agency More Than, and as a mentor she’s working with the projects selected for European Film Market at Berlinale.
She produced a number of short films and worked with development at Ambush Entertainment in Los Angeles, as well as in the production and programming of film festivals, coordinating the first edition of Ambulante California, a traveling documentary film festival created by Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal, and serving as program director for the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival, held annually in Los Angeles focusing on Brazilian Independent films.
Between 2015 and 2021 Lidia worked for international sales label FiGa Films as a manager of Sales, Acquisitions and Festivals. In 2021 she joined O2 Filmes, one of the largest production companies in Brazil, founded by filmmaker Fernando Meirelles, to manage the International department of the distribution arm of the company, handling acquisitions of foreign films for distribution in Brazil as well as sales of Brazilian titles in the international market.
Currently she co-founded and manages More Than, a collaborative international film consultancy and sales agency.
She also acts as a mentor for projects in development for the EFM/Berlinale diversity and inclusion program Toolbox and for up and coming black executive producers supported by the institute Nicho 54, and as a consultant for international film markets, pitch, development and post production labs, as well as major European and Brazilian companies, like Globo Filmes, the second largest broadcaster worldwide.
