Kesmat El Sayed

Kesmat is a producer, and founder of See Media Production and Seera Films GmbH—two independent production companies based in Cairo and Berlin respectively. She started producing films independently in Egypt to focus on stories that are artistically crafted, have social relevance and can transcend national and cultural boundaries. She has produced documentaries for the first time and established filmmakers, while focusing on women directors and stories. She has released three short documentaries and three feature documentaries that have premiered at international festivals and won awards.

Seera Films GmbH - Egypt / Germany

Seera Films is an independent audio visual production company based in Berlin (since 2022) and Cairo (since 2012). They produce creative documentaries and fiction films by Arabic-speaking and African filmmakers. Seera Films was created to produce and amplify systemically underrepresented voices of the global majority with high artistic value for local and international audiences. Seera Films was created because it believes in local talent and that local stories can reach a global audience and be recognized and they should! It believes in first-time filmmakers, especially women, and are constantly looking for new stories and ideas. Their films have screened in renowned local and international festivals, cinemas, TV and platforms.
