Kesmat El Sayed

After launching her first international production Althawra...khabar which premiered at the Berlinale, she founded a production company to produce creative feature documentaries and narrative films that have social relevance and transcends country borders. She has produced documentaries for first-time filmmakers and established ones and focused on women directors and stories.

She has released three short documentaries and two feature documentaries that premiered at international festivals. Her film My Mohamed is Different by Ines Marzouk premiered at Hotdocs. Her film From Cairo by Hala Galal won the best non-fiction award at the Cairo International film festival 2021. Films have been produced in co-production and with the support of several funds.

In 2020 she moved to Berlin and founded Seera Films GmbH to have more freedom to work on more daring projects. She is an alumni of Eave producer workshop since 2021 and is currently working on four documentaries and two fiction projects.
