An advance of the time when festival screenings will be empty because films will be digitally ubiquitous and an annual festival will be too slow for them. A colourful international group of filmmakers and film professionals from all corners of the globe, from the Philippines to Argentina and from Slovenia to Malaysia, will play indoor football (futsal) against each other with passion. Also with Dutch film critics.

We don’t know yet whether it will be exciting, but its sure to be fun. Indoor soccer (futsal) on an international level. Will the rock-star filmmakers from the Philippines win or the fanatically trained Malaysians? Is the relaxed strategy of the Slovenian Isola Cinema more effective than the Dutch wingers from the Filmkrant? Come and see. Substitutes are also welcome.

The video lounge at the Hilton Rotterdam is part of the special programme Happy Endings, When Festivals Are Over. In stead of in the cinema, you can experience the festival in a ‘living home’ or individual setting through means of interactive television. You can compile your own programme from out of a large number of festival films. You can also buy films from and brought by attending film makers in a separate dvd shop. Opening hours: daily 11:00-23:00, please note that there will be some ‘restrictions’ for viewing films.
