Former Artist in Focus Anri Sala distills his fascination for timebased arts into a contemporary variation of the sundial. A series of inkjet prints evokes the passages of time in a most minimal way. The window is the main image of a video loop. It shows the projection of the window’s shadow on the wall of a room. The light source comes from outside. He plays with the notion of the camera obscura, and emphasises the transition of light from the exterior to an interior world. His relatively simple single-channel videos use no installational theatrics, no virtuosic manipulations, no clever ploys.
