Projected faces - a man, a woman, always the same couple - of considerable size. Black & white pictures, sharp contrasts, hardly any grey. The models are facing the camera, medium shot, no hands in sight. Only the clothes and accessories change from one portrait to the next. Some clothes are worn by both, alternately, without distinction. This raises the issue of identity, not in a psychological sense but rather referring to a potential narrative. That means referring to history, the barbaric, tempestuous history of the 20th century, and to its histories: about blood, migration, brutalities, humiliations or grandiosity.
