Internet has countless linear series, interactive comic strips and complex cinematographic virtual worlds. A large number of these have been designed in Flash. This software has a great influence on the emergence of new forms of animation on the web. Will the future of online animation be found in streaming media? Or are there alternatives in which non-linearity, interactivity and public participation will define the viewer experience? Jerome Mouscadet is creative director of IO Interactif, of the French company behind Le Découvert and inventor of the 'bande animée'. Fred Fauquette is one of the people behind Analogiks Indians, that experiments with Flash animation and largely makes interactive projects. Angela Martini is the inventor of Katbot and develops animations with Funny Garbage. Ben Olander comes from the film world and now works for the Internet entertainment company Angry Monkey. Marina Zurkow makes films, videos and Internet work (including Braingirl) and is at present developing two new animation series.
