A policeman in a small town with a penchant for cake, twin sisters who bicker continuously, dancing clothespegs, a French whore and UFO-spotters are just some of the many ingredients in this original surrealistic comedy. The actors take on several roles in this cinematographic urban legend. Officer Clyve Peeg - beautifully acted by Stephen Geller, who was also co-writer - takes down the statements from several people who have seen a UFO. He in turn is interviewed by local television and talks about his everyday worries in the local diner. The film is filled with high-speed verbal humor reminiscent of the Marx Brothers, W.C. Fields, Lewis Carroll and vaudeville. An exhilarating surprise and a wonderful score, in times when American film tends to target the IQ of the average infant (with all due respect for the infant).
