Our streaming platform IFFR Unleashed offers the opportunity to view IFFR films of previous festival editions in a carefully curated online environment. A majority of these films are unavailable elsewhere. Your subscription directly supports independent filmmaking through a transparent and shared model. Watch the strange, intriguing, funny, exciting, quirky and rare gems of IFFR from the comfort of your own home!
Everything on IFFR Unleashed is carefully selected and brought together: from that one film you missed during the festival to unique materials like interviews and masterclasses. Pick a film, a director, a film collection or a mood and browse through our curators’ selections.
A selection unlike any other
The dreamy, ironic comedy L for Leisure by Lev Kalman and Whitney Horn, the documentary-style Venezuelan drama Pelo malo by Mariana Rondón, the HBF Audience Award-winning Wadjda by Haifaa Al Mansour or Atlantic by Jan-Willem van Ewijk (the last film involving our very own festival director Bero Beyer as a producer) – they’re the kind of IFFR treasures that were unavailable once the festival had ended. Not anymore!
And what about short films? These too are hard to find outside of the festival circuit. On IFFR Unleashed you’ll find gems like the whimsical love story Ogasavara van Vakhtang (Tato) Kotetishvili or Flamingo Pride by Tomer Eshed, which humorously plays with stereotypes about heterosexuality and homosexuality.
On IFFR Unleashed you’ll also find the big names: Only Lovers Left Alive (Jim Jarmusch), Wuthering Heights (Andrea Arnold), Porto (Gabe Klinger), Heart of a Dog (Laurie Anderson), We Are the Best! (Lukas Moodysson), Nebraska (Alexander Payne), Samson & Delilah (Warwick Thornton) and Ich Seh, Ich Seh (Veronika Franz & Severin Fiala), just to name a few. We add at least ten new ones every month. All films on IFFR Unleashed have screened at IFFR, but a majority of them haven’t had a theatre release in the Netherlands since.
You’ll keep watching, filmmakers will keep creating
Pay per view to watch a film from anywhere in the world. Or, if you’re in the Benelux, subscribe for unlimited access. (We plan to roll out the subscription model to worldwide audiences very soon.) We created IFFR Unleashed to be a fair platform: viewers pay a competitive price and rights holders receive 50% of the revenue. So by watching wonderful films, you directly support independent, fearless filmmaking.
