FIPRESCI Award

Welcome to Destination Shanghai by Andrew Cheng (China) won the FIPRESCI Award. An honorable mention is given to the video installation Cowards Bend the Knee by Canadian 'Filmmaker in focus' Guy Maddin.

KNF Award

Blissfully Yours by Apichatpong Weerasethakul (Thailand) won the KNF Award.

Amnesty International - DOEN Award

Women’s Prison by Manijeh Hekmat (Iran, 2002) won the first Amnesty International - DOEN Award. An honorable mention is given to Onibus 174, a documentary by filmmaker José Padilha (Brazil).

MovieZone Award

The MovieZone Award is won by Nói Albinói by Dagur Kari (Iceland). Paul Makkars short film Brick Lane received an honorable mention. 

Prince Claus Fund Film Grant

The Prince Claus Fund Film Grant went to filmproject La Nuit de la Verité by Fanta Régina Nacro, produced by Acrobates Films (France/Burkina Faso).
