Geo Lomuntad
Geo Lomuntad is a Manila-based producer who started out as a script supervisor. In 2018, he was an associate producer for Bianca Balbuena in co-production films Fan Girl (Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2020) and Boldstar (CJ Entertainment Prize, Asian Project Market 2019, and Berlinale Co-Production Market 2020). He has attended Berlinale Talents Tokyo and Busan Asian Film School, where he developed his feature project, Me and Lilibeth (now titled Sunshine). In 2021, his produced short film I Get So Sad Sometimes won Best Short Film at QCinema International Film Festival. His first produced feature film The Missing (Iti Mapukpukaw), which competed and won Best Film, NETPAC Jury Award and Best Supporting Actress for Dolly de Leon in Cinemalaya IFF 2023, is the Philippines’ official entry to the 96th Academy Awards. His mission is to champion more Filipino films around the world.
Project 8 Projects - Philippines
Project 8 Projects is a Manila-based film production company founded by acclaimed Filipino directors Antoinette Jadaone and Dan Villegas. Their partnership started in That Thing Called Tadhana (2014), one of the country’s highest grossing independent films, that shaped the modern Philippine romantic comedy. Since 2017, Project 8 Projects has produced both box- office hits, critically acclaimed films, that travelled to different international film festivals too: Changing Partners, Heaven’s Waiting, Alone/Together, and Never Not Love You, among others. In 2020, Project 8 co-produced Fan Girl, which premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival and Tallinn Black Nights. It won 9 awards at the Metro Manila Film Festival and became 2020’s highest grossing film in the Philippines. Their recent project, The Missing (Iti Mapukpukaw) which competed and won Best Film, NTEPAC Jury, Best Supporting Actress for Dolly de Leon at the Cinemalaya IFF 2023, is the Philippines’ submission to the 96th Academy Awards.
