Dantagos Jimmy-Melani
Dantagos Jimmy-Melani is a multiple-award winning producer and the founder of Ndapunikwa Films, a film and media production company based in Windhoek, Namibia. Over the last 12 years, she has worked as a script writer and creative producer on various projects, from independent films to documentaries, audio, print media as well as many commissioned projects for a variety of clients, including Multichoice (Bokwagter and Blackened in 2023), the Namibian Film Commission, and the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation.
Her debut indie film Hairareb has received widespread acclaim. Most recently Best Feature Film at the King Moshoesho Film Festival 2023 in Lesotho. In 2022 it won the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award for Best Movie Southern Africa in Lagos, Nigeria; Best Feature Film Southern Africa at the 9th SOTAMBE International Film and Arts Festival in Lusaka, Zambia; and was officially selected at the 30th Annual Pan African Film Festival (America’s largest and most prestigious Black Film Festival), where it also received a nomination for Best Feature Narrative.
The film also received a Special Mention from the Jury for Feature Length Fiction at the " Festival International du Film PanAfricain de Cannes " and an official selection at the Durban International Film Festival in 2021.
