Current Status &amp; Goals at CineMartWe would like to look for partners in the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, and other potential European co-producers. Daniel's previous films have been well received by European film festivals and audiences, and we are planning to set this project up as an international co-production. We would love to collaborate with like-minded partners to give an international reach to this story about the unseen people in Singapore. We are seeking soft money, post-production specialists, and distributors.&nbsp;SynopsisS, a foreign woman, escapes from a lavish house late at night, leaving behind a corpse and police on her trail. Her first place of refuge is a shopping mall, where she steals new clothes. When she emerges from the changing room, she is a completely different person. She has shed her identity as a migrant worker working under physical abuse in a wealthy person&rsquo;s home. Now, she looks like a middle-class shopper.Unbeknownst to her, she is being followed by Q, a queer Singaporean teenager. Q spies on her every move, especially when S steals things from the people in the mall. Satisfied with her loot, S retreats to a corner under the building, a safe space she&rsquo;s found tucked away from public view. There, she confronts Q.Q tells S that Q had thought S to be part of the Invisible Community, a secretive organization of thieves who form an invisible parallel society in Singapore. Q wants S to teach Q how to steal. Desperate to shake Q, S pretends to be part of this organization and sends Q on a mission. Meanwhile, S is thinking of how to kill Q and get away. Just as S is about to do it, she stops herself and is shocked at how low she&rsquo;s fallen. She suddenly feels compassion for Q and decides to teach Q how to steal.Together, they become the perfect thieving duo. But when they are almost caught, S is reminded of how precarious her situation is. Q decides to take S back to Q&rsquo;s place to hide out. There, Q confesses to S that the Invisible Community was something made up. Q had seen the news and known S was in trouble. Q had wanted to turn S in as revenge. Years ago, they had a random encounter on the street. Q&rsquo;s father had beaten Q up savagely and thrown Q out of the house, after he saw how Q was looking at S. But after today, Q has grown so fond of S that S is now the only person Q trusts.At that moment, the door opens and Q&rsquo;s father walks in. The two thieves freeze in horror. But Q&rsquo;s father walks past them. Suddenly, they realize they have become invisible. Delirious with joy, they run down the streets, sneaking into other people&rsquo;s houses to steal and to observe their lives. They bear silent witness to these unseen lives, without any judgment.Slowly, S and Q disappear from the screen. Sometimes, we hear their chuckle. Sometimes, we only hear their footsteps. They disappear from us, unseen; free from any labels, free to pursue their own destiny, they are now the ones who watch us. &nbsp;Director's Biography Daniel Hui is a filmmaker and writer. A graduate of the film program at California Institute of the Arts, he is one of the founding members of 13 Little Pictures, a critically acclaimed independent film collective in Singapore. He has made three feature-length films: Eclipses&nbsp;(Pixel Bunker Award for International New Talent, Doclisboa IFF 2013),&nbsp;Snakeskin&nbsp;(Special Jury Award TFFDoc, Torino FF 2014; Award of Excellence, Yamagata IDFF 2015; Special Jury Mention, RIDM 2015), and&nbsp;Demons&nbsp;(In Competition, Kim Jiseok Award, Busan IFF 2018; Berlinale Forum 2019).
