Participants announced for Creative Producer Indaba 23–24

31 October 2023

The latest cohort of our Creative Producer Indaba (CPI) programme has been announced: a group of fifteen producers from around the world who have been carefully selected to participate in the programme's third edition, which aims to nurture creativity and foster collaboration within the African film industry and beyond.

The programme will kick off online on 6 November, and conclude with an online week from 8 – 12 April 2024. In-person sessions will commence at the Atlas Workshops, part of the Marrakech International Film Festival, from 25 November to 1 December 2023. Following that, producers will have sessions from 26 January to 2 February 2024, during IFFR 2024.

The programme comprises plenary sessions and group work, unpacking successful case studies and having access to individual meetings with mentors and guest experts. The focus will be on project development and planning, financing, legal, PR and marketing, advocacy and lobbying, organisational development, network management and leadership.

“A powerful example of the importance of lasting bonds in our industry.”

The CPI offers this unique opportunity to ten African producers, with and without projects, as well as five international producers to bolster their leadership and entrepreneurial capabilities, refine their production skills, and foster professional networks that span across both Africa and the international stage.

“The Indaba is a powerful example of the importance of lasting bonds in our industry,” said Vanja Kaldudjercic, IFFR Festival Director, “both between the exciting talent on the programme and our partners at Realness, EAVE, the Atlas Workshops, and everyone else who makes this programme possible. We're delighted we can continue to develop the skills and creativity of these producers, and look forward to another fruitful edition.”
