This eight-part series is a film version of the first part of Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan Novels. The turbulent youth of shy Elena and wild Lila in a working-class district of Naples reveals the history of post-war Italy: a time when women were able to escape their backgrounds, perhaps for the first time ever, through education.
Tickets without lunch cost €32 and tickets with lunch cost €47. The series will be available on NPO Start Plus from 1 February and will be broadcast on Dutch TV by VPRO from 8 February 2019.
