IFFR 2020 is almost here! To ensure you don’t get completely lost in the excitement we’ve put together our best and most practical tips for getting ahead and organising your visit.
Start with the Specials
You can already buy tickets to our specials in presale: events such as our Opening Night, Crash with Live Score, Short Film Marathon, Surprise Film, Dag van de Dwarse Film 2020, and many more. These tickets are selling fast so be sure to check out the event pages and grab yours in good time.
Look out for the programme in full
Our entire programme will go live this Wednesday, 15 January! On this big day, you’ll find all films, specials, programmes, and the schedule on our programme page – easy to filter and navigate. If you prefer a printed programme then check your doormat or the local shop (also on 15 January), you’ll find the IFFR Programmabijlage in de Volkskrant newspaper.
Be prepared for ticket sales
The advance tickets sales start on 16 January, exclusively for Tiger Members, from 20:00 hours. Regular ticket sales will start the following evening, 17 January, at 20:00 hours. Set yourself up in your personal IFFR account beforehand. Create an account if you don’t have one already – if you have a CJP pass, you can link it to your account here.
Having trouble choosing?
There are a number of ways to navigate our extensive programme. Start by using our four festival sections as a guide: Yellow for Bright Future, blue for Voices, green for Deep Focus and red for Perspectives. Still can’t decide? Try our IFFR Film Finder tool which gets to know your taste and helps you to find your best-matched films.
Download the IFFR App
The whole festival neatly in your phone with the IFFR App. Here you can find the programme, pick your favourite films and make a schedule, buy your tickets and have them scanned on your way into the film, discover online masterclasses, blogs, podcasts, and interviews, and turn on notifications to stay informed on the latest news.
Make a personal schedule
Logged in to your personal account? Start with ‘favouriting’ films by finding and clicking on the heart symbol. You can make a personal schedule from these favourites by clicking on the agenda symbol in your favourites overview, or on the programme or film detail page. Once ticket sales have started, you can place your favourites from your personal schedule, into your shopping basket. Note: marking films as a favourite does not reserve a ticket
