Zentropa Sweden AB – Sweden

Profile

Zentropa Sweden was established in 2009. The company’s objective is to produce drama for cinema and TV in Sweden as well as to co-produce Nordic and international projects. In 2011, Zentropa Sweden produced its first Swedish project, Happy End, by Björn Runge and in 2015 it produced The Here After by Magnus von Horn (selected by Cannes, Quinzaine des Réalisateurs). In 2017 Zentropa Sweden produced its latest feature film Wasted by Anders Hazelius and  now has many projects in development. Zentropa Sweden has also co-produced several titles, including among many others, The Commune and Another round by Thomas Vinterberg, The House That Jack Built by Lars von Trier, What Will People Say by Iram Haq, Out Stealing Horses by Hans Petter Moland and The Innocents by Eskil Vogt.

Agnes grew up in Gothenburg,Sweden. In her youth she spent most of her time practicing music. Her idea was to work with music and/or theatre on stage but when her brother, who is a film director, introduced her to the cinematic world she fell in love with it. At her first shoot, aged 19, she realised that this was the world for her and that the people who work with film were her kind of people. She then studied at a Swedish community college for two years, made a couple of short films as a director but later found her way into producing film. In mid-2016 she applied for Zentropa’s trainee programme and has since been a part of Zentropa Sweden. During her daily work she both assists producer Lizette Jonjic in working with bigger projects, but also produces and co-produces her own projects.
