CiMENA Presents: Wajib

CiMENA is a Rotterdam based film club that shows movies from the MENA region (Middel East and North Africa). For IFFR’s Rotterdam day RTM, CiMENA chose Wajib, by director Annemarie Jacir. A road-movie in miniature through the neighbourhoods of Nazareth, where divorced teacher Abu Shadi, together with his son Shadi who is home from Italy, deliver personally the invitations for the wedding of daughter and sister Amal. Over the course of a long day, the tensions between them reach a boiling point.
