Zózimo Bulbul

Zózimo BULBUL (1937 –2013) was a Brazilian actor, filmmaker, and activist. He co-founded and organized the Encontro de Cinema Negro Brasil, África & Américas, which showcases films featuring African and Afro-Brazilian actors, directors, and themes. He made his debut as an actor in the 1962 Brazilian film Cinco Vezes Favela and went on to star in more than thirty film. His best known work is Abolição (1988), a documentary he directed about the 100th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Brazil.
