Yang Heng
Still: Silent GhostsYANG Heng (1975, China) graduated from the Hunan Broadcasting College in 1994, and went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in Photography from the Beijing Film Academy in 2001. Since 2002, Yang has been working as an independent director and scriptwriter. With his feature film debut Betelnut he won the New Currents Award at the Pusan International Film Festival in 2006 and the FIPRESCI Prize at the Hong Kong International Film Festival in 2007. Having appeared at IFFR in previous years (Sun Spots, IFFR 2009), Yang made a return with his latest feature, Silent Ghosts, selected for IFFR 2023.
