Woody Allen

Woody Allen (1935, Brooklyn) was born as Allen Stewart Konigsberg. He started his career in about 1961 as a stand-up comic and wrote jokes for television programmes, among them Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. His film début as a scriptwriter and actor was What's New Pussycat?. Then followed a series of comedies which he directed himself and played the leading role. With Interiors (1978) Woody Allen took a more serious turn which he has maintained alongside comedies to this day.Woody Allen (1935, Brooklyn) was born as Allen Stewart Konigsberg.
