Wendelien van Oldenborgh
Still: Hier.Wendelien van OLDENBORGH (1962, Netherlands) is an artist based in Rotterdam whose works range from painting, installation and video art. She graduated from the University of London in 1986. Her works focus on the dynamics of cultural identity in society whereby she is using the cinematic format as a methodology for production and as the basic language for various forms of presentation, and the cinematic lens to investigate these intricacies, allowing for an alternative public discourse to take place. She was awarded the Hendrik Chabot Prize in 2011 and the Dr. A.H. Heineken Prize for Art in 2014. Her works have been exhibited worldwide, including at Chicago Architecture Biennial 2019, Singapore Biennial 2019, and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam 2020, among others. She is a member of the Dutch Society for Arts and represented the Netherlands at the 57th Venice Biennial in 2017.
