Visakesa CHANDRASEKARAM (1969, Sri Lanka) is a filmmaker, human rights lawyer, writer, academic and artist. He has written two novels, Tigers Don't Confess and The King and the Assassin, and directed stage playes His debut film, Frangipani (2014), won him several awards, including Best Foreign Film Director at the 2015 Rio LGBT Film Festival. He has also received a doctorate from the Australian National University for his research on the use of confessionary evidence under counter-terrorism laws. He currently works as a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Colombo.
