Veikko AALTONEN (1955, Finland) graduated from Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in 1980. His first feature film The Final Arrangement was released in 1987. The film was co-written by Aki Kaurismäki. The Prodigal Son (1993), his second feature film, won the Jussi Award for Best Film. For Our Father… (1994) he received the Jussi Award for Best Director. In 2005, he made the documentary The Shepherds, before focusing on television. The Dinosaur (2021) is his return to film, with its world premiere at IFFR.
