Vatroslav Mimica
Still: Ženidba gospodina MarcipanaVatroslav MIMICA (1923-2020, Croatia) was a filmmaker who initially studied Medicine at the University of Zagreb. After World War Two, he wrote film and literary reviews before beginning his own career in filmmaking, first with animation, and later with feature films. His 1965 film Prometheus of the Island won Best Film at Pula Film Festival in 1965, while his film Monday or Tuesday (1966) won him both Best Film and Best Director. Mimica died in 2020.
