Tim Burton

Tim Burton (1958) was given a Disney grant to study animation, after which he started working for the company with the mouse and made two short cartoons that were considered unsuitable for children and never released. He broke through with the eccentric comedy Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. That was followed by Beetlejuice, the first two episodes of Batman and smaller films such as Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood. As well as director, Burton is also producer, scriptwriter and incidental actor.
