Thierry de Mey, composer and cineaste, has staged and filmed a variety of theatre and dance pieces. Anne Theresa De Keersmaeker (1960, Mechelen) has been one of the most important modern choreographers in the world since her first work Fase, Four Movements to the Music of Steve Reich (1982).
