Takahiro Kudo

After his bachelor at Kanazawa College of Art, Takahiro KUDO (1984, Japan) spent two years interning at the Orthopaedic and Prosthesis department at the Epithesis factory. The medical aspect in this work decisively influenced Kudo’s way of looking at the world and his practice as an artist. He developed his vision of the human body as a cage, a restriction. After finishing his masters at Kanazawa, Kudo moved to Ghent for a second master degree. Now, he lives and works in Berlin and ‘restriction’ is still a key word in Kudo’s oeuvre: “Thus my work studies and (re-)presents things based on the application of restrictions including all kinds of natural and artificial phenomena surrounding us.”
