Suzana Amaral
Suzana AMARAL (1932, Brazil) studied Literature and attended the University of São Paulo where she received an undergraduate degree in Film and TV in 1971. For fourteen years, she worked for Radio e Televisão Cultura. In 1975, she enrolled at the graduate
film program at the Tisch School of the Arts, Film and TV - at New York University (NYU).
Before directing the feature film The Hour of the Star (1985) Suzana Amaral directed over 40 documentaries and teleplays. She continues writing screenplays and teaches filmmaking at FAAP, São Paulo’s film school.
