Stewart Main

Stewart Main and Peter Wells were both born in Auckland, New Zealand, respectively in 1958 and 1953. For more than ten years director Main and writer-director Wells cooperated on short fiction films and documentaries, gaining a reputation as innovative stylistically-daring and politically committed film-makers. The theme that runs through all their work is the investigation of aspects of identity, be they sexual, geographical or historical.
