Sara van der Heide

Sara van der HEIDE (1977, South Korea) grew up in the Netherlands and took part in postgradaute programme De Ateliers in Amsterdam. In 2007 she was artist in residence at ISCP in New York. In her work she mixes fiction and actuality in order to question Western dominance and the subjectivity of classification systems by touching themes as the nation state, time, gender and art history. Van der Heide doesn't work within one specific form, but explores different media such as performance, film, language and the body.
