Rogério Sganzerla

Rogério SGANZERLA (1946-2004, Brazil) was born in Joaçaba and is known as being one of the main directors of the Brazilian Cinema Novo. He was married to his own cinema muse, the actress Helena Ignez. In 1967 he made his first short film Documentário. In 1970 he founded his own production company Bel-Air, together with Julius Bressane. Sganzerla died in 2004 because of a brain tumor, just a very short while before his last film O signo do caos premiered.
