Robert Eggers

Robert EGGERS (1983, USA) is a film director, screenwriter and production designer. He began his career as a director and designer of experimental and classical theatre in New York. He later started to direct short films and to work as a designer for film, television, printed material and dance. The Witch (2015), his feature debut as both screenwriter and director, carried off the Best Director award in the U.S. Dramatic category at the Sundance Festival. It also garnered two Independent Spirit awards, for Best First Film and Best First Screenplay. The Lighthouse (2019), his second feature, was presented in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs at the Cannes Festival, where it won the FIPRESCI Prize given by the international film press.
