Rein Jelle Terpstra

Rein Jelle TERPSTRA (1960, Netherlands) is a Dutch photographer who is interested in the relationships between photography, perception and the absence of the photographic image. Since his residency at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende in Amsterdam, he has used his extensive archive of amateur photographs to create exhibitions, books, slide shows and installations. Terpstra teaches photography at the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen and in 2017, he received a Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship in Washington D.C. to work on the Robert F. Kennedy Funeral Train project. This research culminated in a book and a short film, which has its world premiere at IFFR.
