Rachid Djaïdani op IFFR
Rachid DJAÏDANI (b. 1974, Carrières-sous-Poissy, France) has an Algerian father and Sudanese mother and was an assistant director (for Mathieu Kassovitz' La haine), boxing champion and actor before he made his directing debut with the documentary Sur ma ligne (2007). He worked for nine years on his low-budget feature debut Rengaine (2012), with which he won the FIPRESCI Prize at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes. He wrote the novels Boumkoeur, Mon nerf andViscéral.
