Peter Mullan

Peter Mullan (1959, Glasgow) was not admitted to film academy and so he had to turn to acting. He played in Braveheart and Trainspotting and in Cannes he won a Palme d'Or for best actor for his role in My Name is Joe by Ken Loach. The Magdalene Sisters is his second feature as director.
