Paulin Soumanou Vieyra

Paulin SOUMANOU VIEYRA ( 1925-1987) was a film maker and historian. At the age of ten he moved from Benin to Senegal. In Paris he shot the first Francophone African film Afrique-sur-Seine (1957). In 1969 he founded the Fédération Panafricaine des Cinéastes.
