Patrice Leconte

Patrice Leconte (1947) studied at the IDHEC, was a cartoonist for five years (his drawings appeared in the comic strip paper Pilote), made several short films including a portrait of colleague comic-strip artist Marcel Gotlieb and made his debut in 1975 with the full-length feature Les veces étaient fermés de l'intérieur. Among the films which followed are the successful comedies Les bronzés (1978) and Les bronzés font du ski (1979), Les spécialistes (1985), Monsieur Hire (1989) and Le mari de la coiffeuse (1990).
