Olivier Assayas

Olivier ASSAYAS (1955, France) was educated at the art academy in Paris and wrote for the prestigious magazine Cahiers du Cinéma. He has also written screenplays and directed several short and feature films, documentaries and TV productions. In 1986, his feature debut, Disorder, won the critics' prize in Venice. As well as developing a filmography, Assayas is also working on a bibliography, which includes his book Conversation avec Bergman (1990). Five of his films have already been nominated for a Golden Palm in Cannes, where Personal Shopper (2016) earned him the tied award for Best Director.
