Miyazaki Hayao

MIYAZAKI Hayao (1941, Tokyo) was fascinated by aircraft at an early age and later by animation films. He studied politics and economics and then worked as graphic designer on many popular television and feature films. He is generally regarded as the most important animation film maker in Japan. Miyazaki's Spirited Away has broken every box office record in Japan and won many international awards including an Oscar in 2003.
