Marcel Mariën

Marcel MARIËN (1920-1993, Belgium) was a surrealist artist. As a young man Mariën was introduced to the Belgian and French Surrealism of René Magritte, Paul Colinet, Louis Scutenaire, René Char, Paul Eluard and his bosom friend Paul Nougé. The French speaking Belgian was a poet, essayist, writer of pamphlets and maker of collages, assemblages and surrealistic photos.
